So I’m back at it again.
Another year of double runs, 60-70mile weeks, going to bed sore and
waking up worse, and why….Because I love this shit!! I love training, and I love racing. There’s something about pushing your body
past limits you've never thought possible that I just can’t resist. It’s an incredible feeling. So I’m back in Phoenix where my neighbours are
in their 70s teaching me life lessons by the pool and back training with the
other Canadian boys trying to run as fast as possible and enjoying the
beautiful sunny skies. I mean do you
really blame me?!!?!
Plain and simple, I love what I do. While people take a week long cruise trip to
the Caribbean, I come here to phoenix and train, or head over to Europe and
race all over the place for a month. Evaluating
last year, I’ve come to the realization that I forgot why I was doing this. My final goal was the same but the process
was all wrong. Running became more of a
job and lost the enjoyment. I made
changes in my program that, looking at it now, I can see were wrong for me, and
I went in with the wrong mindset which was my downfall.
This year is about running fast and having fun. I’m in Phoenix enjoying the process, seeing
the sights and loving life. Check back
to follow the season as I looked for personal bests, qualifying for Canadian
teams, and seeing the world!!
We are ALL very, very proud of you Kyle
